Tongue-Tie, Frenotomy and Breastfeeding

Infants who are “tongue tied” (ankyloglossia) can have difficulties with breastfeeding.

This systematic review identifies that frenotomy (snipping of the membrane under the tongue in newborns) may benefit those infants where breastfeeding is impaired.
